A thousand of oil and gas industry specialists studied at KFU in 2019

The year 2019 appeared to be of landmark  nature  for the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of IGPT of KFU.  It is noteworthy  that the Center    implemented the  largest in the history of Kazan University  international   contract for the provision of  advance training services. The result of this work was the decision of the management  of  Cuban state oil company Cupet to conclude a new contract with the Center for 2020 and 2021.  Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Marketing of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan Federal University and Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing , took part in events related to the development of Russian-Cuban relations at various levels  and organized visits of the Cupet management to KFU.

In total, in 2019, 133 different  programs  were provided  for 979  employees of 89 oil and gas companies . The range of both full-time and distance training  programs has been expanded, 68% of  these  having  been carried out using distance educational technologies. 166 faculty members of KFU and partners of the Center provided training for the course participants.

Further professional education has several important functions. Firstly, we introduce all the successfully implemented courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Secondly, the Center attracts a great  number of company specialists ,who  become our partners in the research field  while taking up the courses  and  getting acquainted with the IGPT laboratories And thirdly, the effective work of the Center contributes to the development  of  international cooperation of the University, ”said  Danis Nurgaliev, the Vice-rector for Research and Director of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan University.

The Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing  of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies at KFU is gaining popularity both  with the industrial companies  and individual clients. In 2019, the Center broke its own record for the month’s plans. So, in October alone, 6 managers and specialists of oil and gas industry enterprises from 21 companies, including Cuba, Kazakhstan and Belarus, were provided training.

The Center faces different  challenges  in a modern competitive environment. And the effective results of our work  is accounted for by its flexibility and individual approach.  We offer  different  modes  of study  by a variety of methods including  face-to-face, part-time, distance (including individual trajectories) and  on-site training  programs, introduce webinars and online round tables, and also attract unique experts from around the world, ”said Ildus Adgamovich.

The concept of a comprehensive modernization of the educational process“ Smarteducation ”is being actively developed  in the Center.  In 2019, a special platform –  the “Incubator of distance education projects”- has become  fully operational that makes it possible to  process, replicate and accompany distance education programs . The platform allows to create high-quality multimedia content, which is used in training bachelors, masters and graduate students, as well as company employees as part of their additional professional education.

It should be noted that due to the show  micro-lessons created on the basis of the Incubator,  youtube channel of the Center has gained 32,000 views.

“The fact is that popularity of  youtube channel of the CATQM&M is rapidly growing. The geography of the course participants turned out to be very extensive and has reached Kamchatka and Sakhalin. It is gratifying that our Center is recognized by industrial companies throughout Russia. How well we meet our objectives is illustrated by the fact that most of the course participants come to our Center following recommendations from their colleagues, as well as due to free on-line lectures ,” said Ildus Chukmarov, Director of the  CATQM&M.

Thanks to modern online learning opportunities, which are successfully integrated into the  course programs of  the  Center and implemented on the basis of the “Distance Learning Projects Incubator”, students with different backgrounds  from all over the world can get industry- specific education. So in 2019, a group of students of Surgut State University, majoring in “physics”, covered  professional retraining  program “Geophysics: geophysical well logging ” at Kazan Federal University in parallel with their basic education. In addition, the Center plans to expand cooperation with SSU in 2020.   It is significant that all the KFU students have a good  opportunity to participate in a double degree program and  acquire a new profession in  oil and gas industry.

The Cooperation Agreement between Rosneft and KFU, signed in September of the past year, envisages the joint work in the field of personnel training, research  and innovative spheres, as well as providing additional professional training and advanced training  for the employees of the company and its subsidiaries. A number of special projects were carried out on  request of Rosneft company.

The managers and specialists of Gazprom Transgaz Kazan from various regions of Tatarstan studied the basics of exploration, development and production of oil and gas fields,  processing, application and transportation of oil and gas, as well as the oil-reliant economy.

In addition, in Almetyevsk, the final exam on the Mine Surveying Program for the company’s specialists was held at the Tatneft base. The chairman of the commission was Rustam Sakhautdinov,  the General surveyor of the company. In total, in 2019, 50 surveying specialists of TATNEFT were trained  in the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of IGPT of KFU.  Another special project for mine surveyors of TATNEFT was the further education program “Work in ArcGIS for  surveying  managers and experts of oil and gas companies.”
