Kazan Federal University presented its developments to Vietnamese oil and gas companies
A delegation of Kazan Federal University, Danis Nurgaliyev, the Vice-rector for Research of KFU and the Director of IGPT and ldus Chukmarov, Deputy Director of IGPT and Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing paid a visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The program of the visit included meetings with the management of the joint Russian-Vietnamese enterprise Vietsovpetro and representatives of Rosneft Vietnam.
“While making a tour in Vietnam, a set of the talks were held, during which the advances of Kazan Federal University were presented. There was a detailed discussion of educational programs, the research potential of KFU laboratories, as well as the developments of university scientists, that could make it possible to enhance oil recovery from the existing fields of Vietnam and help to discover new ones, ”said Danis Karlovich.
In the city of Vungtau, where the headquarters of the joint Russian-Vietnamese enterprise Vietsovpetro is located, there was a round table, during which Vyacheslav Bondarenko, the first deputy general director, told KFU representatives about the company and its objectives. Due to the decrease of oil production in existing fields over the last years, the company expressed interest in KFU developments, as well as in educational programs that can give better understanding of enhanced oil recovery methods and improve the skills of the employees.
“A decision has been made to design advanced professional training programs to be provided for managers and specialists of Vietsovpetro company in 2020. In addition, colleagues from Vietsovpetro told about their intention to visit KFU in May this year to discuss the upcoming joint projects,” shared Ildus Adgamovich.
Aleksey Ivanov, the first deputy director of the Vietsovpetro division of NIPImorneftegaz, showed Kazan colleagues laboratories of the research center and told about the current work. Then the delegation visited the offshore drilling platform located in the South China Sea, where they examined mobile drilling rigs and oil tankers. Sirin Karimov, a graduate of geological department of KSU (now IGTP KFU), told the guests about the activities of the Reservoir Modeling Department of Vietsovpetro company.
Danis Nurgaliyev and Ildus Chukmarov had a meeting with Akhnaf Safiullin (also a graduate of the geological department of Kazan University), director for managing new projects of Rosneft subsidiary Rosneft Vietnam. The issues of collaboration between KFU and Rosneft Vietnam, as well as the participation of Kazan Federal University in a round table on the increase of oil recovery in Vietnam were discussed.
In the city of Ho Chi Minh there was a meeting of representatives of Russian universities: Ufa State Petroleum Technological University, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas and Kazan Federal University. It is worth noting that the tour was organized with the support of Nail Chanyshev, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the UGNTU.
At the end of the tour, Danis Nurgaliyev and Ildus Chukmarov, together with the colleagues from Ufa and Moscow, visited the Vietsovpetro sponsored school where children of the employees from Russia study. The pupils were given a career-oriented lesson, they learned about Kazan Federal University, educational programs, the Universiade Village and Kazan city.
