KFU and CUPET company discussed the issues of further cooperation

From March 18 to 20, representatives of the national oil company CUPET visited  Kazan Federal University. The delegation included Gustavo Cobreiro, Counsellor of the Embassy on Higher Education and Science, Mario Miranda Marquez, Head of CUPET Training and Development, and Tanya Perez, HR Director of CUPET.

On the first day of the visit, the delegation was hosted by Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Marketing of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan Federal University and Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing.

The partnership between Kazan University and CUPET  has been developing since 2015. A group of specialists of the company was admitted  to two-year  master’s program on oil and gas business, on completion of which they were awarded  Diplomas of KFU, 200 managers and specialists of a foreign enterprise have been trained upon  ten  advanced training programs. The Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of IGPT concluded the major contract on provision of advanced training  services on sixteen programs, “  said Ildus Chukmarov.

The first course of training has already been held in February this year.  Next month, representatives of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies were supposed to go to Cuba to provide a second course. However, due to the current situation in the world, the on-site courses will be rescheduled.

We highly appreciate the efforts of the management and the teaching staff of IGPTand CATQM&M in carrying out distance education. We are also interested in the joint work of CUPET with the Center of Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of KFU, therefore we will discuss the postponement of the deadlines, ”said GustavoCobreiro,  Counsellor of the Embassy on   Higher Education and Science.

We have been cooperating  for least five years  and are quite satisfied with the results. We really  appreciate  the approach of the Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing Ildus Chukmarov in conducting the courses that provide knowledge of the developments in enhanced oil recovery methods and thus, contribute to ensuring of the energy independence of Cuba – this being  our main goal, ”added Mario Miranda Marquez, Head of Training and Development of the company CUPET.

To recap, Kazan University has already switched to distance teaching. Distant courses programs  have been successfully implemented by the Center for Advanced Training Quality Management and Marketing. The electronic resources are available via the incubator of distance education, youtube channel of the Center, CDOGEO.RU online shop, the system for autogeneration of individual training trajectory etc.

“Youtube channel, for example, collected more than one and a half thousand subscribers and fifty thousand views.We managed to get closer to the status of Coursera, the so-called projects on massive online education. Distance learning appears to be as effective as classroom setting”, noted  Ildus Chukmarov.

The program of the visit of the embassy and the oil company representatives included a meeting with Cuban students studying at the preparatory faculty of KFU.  Airat Mukhametov, deputy dean for educational activities of the preparatory faculty of KFU, took part in the meeting. The main topic of the discussion was provision of educational services and the measures taken by the University to help the international students to adapt to the new cultural environment. In turn, the Cuban students expressed their satisfaction with learning environment, as well as with the housing conditions provided by Kazan Federal University

On the last day of the visit, Cuban colleagues had a meeting with  Danis Nurgaliev, Vice-rector for Research and Director of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of KFU and Linar Latypov, Vice-Rector for External Relations. The parties discussed current issues of cooperation of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing on providing advanced training courses for CUPET employees. Also, the colleagues drew up a plan for scientific -technical cooperation and discussed the details of the implementation of new projects.
