KFU Student Chapter of the Association of Geologists, Geophysicists and Engineers commended as best during the 2nd AGGE Congress
The Congress was held as part of the Russian Industry Energy Conference in Moscow.
The event was attended by Danis Nurgaliev, Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences; Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Continuing Education and Industrial Partnerships of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies; Vladislav Sudakov, Deputy Director for Marketing at the Gazpromneft-KFU Scientific and Educational Center; and Anastasia Yusupova, Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Paleoclimatology, Paleoecology and Paleomagnetism and Curator of the Student Chapter of the Association of Geologists, Geophysicists and Engineers at Kazan Federal University.
The Congress summarized the results of AGGE’s activities in 2025 and outlined plans for the next year. A development strategy for the non-profit organization, founded in 2024 to unite and support specialists in Earth sciences, was also discussed.
In his report, “Training and Educational Activities within AGGI”, Dr Nurgaliev discussed the importance of attracting students to the Association and the need for its rapid growth, “One of the Association’s missions is educational. It is essential that it organize numerous lectures by leading experts and webinars that are integrated into the basic education systems of specialized universities. At the same time, it is crucial that AGGE students (membership is free for them) gain access to information they can use to write their term papers and theses. In the next three to five years, the Association’s membership should reach 5,000-10,000, at which point it will play a significant role in training qualified specialists and disseminating new technologies in Russia.”
During his speech, the Vice-Rector presented a strategy for training engineers and developing personnel for oil and gas companies at CdoGEO – Center for Advanced Training.
Following the event, Head of CdoGEO Ildus Chukmarov, stated the following, “A new concept for training engineering personnel was proposed. It is based on a marketing management system and a strategy for improving the quality and management of educational processes. The project we plan to implement within this concept is called Geosynergy. It unites the company’s internal personnel development and assessment system with an external educational space. This unified educational space can be formed using the combined integrated GEO-KITs simulator, which enables training within interdisciplinary teams. In our view, the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies can become a unifying and coordinating center for implementing our proposed concept for working with industrial partners and educational institutions.”
Anastasia Yusupova, candidate for chair of the association’s youth section, reported on the work of the KFU AGGE Student Chapter and outlined her vision for the Association’s future.
“I believe that the youth section should organize more events for students, scientific conferences, competitions, and webinars, actively promote fundamental and applied research in Earth sciences, and assist students with internships and employment. We also need to strengthen inter-university cooperation,” she shared.
The Congress concluded with an award ceremony. Based on the results of 2025, the KFU AGGE Student Chapter was named the best. The winner’s trophy arrived in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. In addition, three university representatives were recognized in the Personal Contribution to the Development of the Youth Branch of AGGE category: Anastasia Yusupova; Enzhe Shakirova, Head of KFU AGGE Student Chapter, and Kamilla Sattarova.
