The “Seismic facies analysis” program has been completed at the CATQM&M

A group of  19 managers and specialists of  Rosneft, Lukoil , Rosgeologiya and  Roсsar Servisez  improved their qualifications on the ‘”Seismic Facial Analysis”  program at Kazan University. It was Imperial Kazan University  where Nikolai Alekseevich Golovkinsky,  the author of the “facies law”, a  Russian geologist and hydrogeologist,  Doctor of Geology and Mineralogy worked.

“It is gratifying  to emphasize that the training  on the program“ Seismic facies analysis” is being provided at the University where Professor Golovkinsky worked, and introduced the principle of facies migration in space and time into geological science. This principle underlies the sequential stratigraphy and modern 3D geological modeling.  And it is in the modern 3D GEO Center  of the Institute  where  the students having been delivered  the lectures,’ said Ildus Chukmarov,  Deputy Director for Marketing of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of  Kazan Federal University and  Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing.

The  advanced training program  provides knowledge on the interpretation of seismic data. The course  participants examined the  types of boundaries in seismic exploration, the VSP method, velocity models and methods for structural imaging. They also studied the sequence-stratigraphic and seismic stratigraphic approaches to the interpretation and application of attributive  analysis of seismic data.
