Kazan Federal University took part in the ceremony on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Victory of the Cuban Revolution
Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Marketing of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan Federal University and Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing visited the GlavUpDK Cultural Center under the MFA of the Russian Federation at the invitation of the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba Gerardo Peñalver Portal and congratulated him and all Cuban people on the 60th anniversary of the Victory of the Cuban Revolution on behalf of KFU.
The event was attended by the partners and friends of the Republic of Cuba having longstanding relationships, that is, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, of the State Duma, of the National Committee for the Promotion of Economic Cooperation with Latin America Countries (SESLA), AO “Zarubezhneft” , as well as partner- universities, including Kazan Federal University and Ufa State Petroleum Technical University.
Fruitful cooperation of KFU with the embassy of Cuba in Russia and with Cupet national oil company contributed to friendly relations and business contacts.
250 Cubans received diplomas of Kazan University during the period from 1978 to 1988. About 150 of them are working today in Cuba and hold key positions in the education system and national economy of the Republic. In 2018 a group of 16 employees of Cupet national oil company completed an advanced training program provided by the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of the IGPT KFU. This year 200 more specialists and managers of the company are expected to improve their skills at the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan Federal University .
Ildus Adgamovich noted that during the event the issues of agreements between the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan Federal University and the Republic of Cuba were negotiated. This year in May, the Ambassador Gerardo Penalver Portal is expected to visit the Republic of Tatarstan and KFU to discuss the details of cooperation.
- A. Chukmarov also had a meeting with Vivian Hichman Miranda, the official representative of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Cuba, who had previously visited Kazan Federal University.
In 2019 some more refresher training curricular as well as «Рetroleum Engineering» professional retraining program should be provided by the Center to meet future challenges of the company. The partners of KFU, SPF “Paker and ”Geosteering Technologies” companies , are supposed to be involved in this project.
