Cuban Masters defended their diplomas with excellent marks!

On June 10, at the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of the Kazan Federal University, the defense of theses of CUPET specialists took place.  The students mastered the two-year Master’s Program “Development of fields of hard-to-recover and unconventional hydrocarbons” in the Petroleum Engineering major.

The examination committee included six people: First Deputy Director of TatNIPIneft (PJSC Tatneft) Azat Zaripov, Deputy General Director, Chief Geologist of CJSC KARA-Altyn Enterprises Ruslan Khairtdinov, Associate Professor of the Department of Department of Hard-To-Recover Hydrocarbons Development and Operation Ildar Mannanov, Associate Professor of the Department of Hard-To-Recover Hydrocarbons Development and Operation Farid Gubaydullin, Senior Researcher at the Research Laboratory “In-situ Combustion” Irek Mukhamatdinov, Deputy Head of the Field Development Department of the JV Tatneft-Dobycha Azat Lutfullin.

Before the start of diplomas defense, Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director of IGPT for Marketing, Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing (CdoGEO) wished success to the masters.

“We have been moving towards this for three years, from the moment when you just started learning Russian, ending with the theses preparation. I hope that today each of you will perform at the highest level and be able to use the knowledge gained for the benefit of the Motherland,” said Ildus Chukmarov.

After the introductory part, each undergraduate presented his thesis and answered the questions of the examination committee members.

At the end, the results were announced: most of the masters coped with “excellent”, the rest got “good”.

“It was interesting for us to read the theses of the masters and listen to their speeches, because the Cuban objects are unusual for us and we wanted to learn more about their research,” said Azat Zaripov.

“All the masters showed good results! I wish them success in their work,” said Mikhail Varfolomeev, Head of the Department of Hard-To-Recover Hydrocarbons Development and Operation.

“We tried very hard, worked hard on our diplomas.Thanks to the teachers for their help and support,” says Cuellar Norniella Isaili.

A solemn commencement will take place on June 21.

It should be noted that at the moment the third group of Cuban undergraduates (CUPET specialists) numbering 10 people is being formed. They will arrive in Kazan in September 2022.
