Continuing professional education provided at KFU crossed the Atlantic
The year 2018 has been fruitful for the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of KFU. Major international projects have been implemented, a wide range of on-site training programs have been conducted throughout Russia and the CIS. The center maintains partnerships with the leading oil and gas companies and offers a comprehensive range of training services ( full-time and distance education programs) both for corporate clients and private individuals.
I would like to note that the Center for Advanced Training of IGPT annually shows a stable progress in all aspects and builds up strong relations with its partners and customers. Undoubtedly, one of the most significant events for the Center was the signing a major agreement with Cupet company according to which two hundred managers and specialists of the company will be trained on ten different advanced training programs in Havana, ”said Ildus Chukmarov, director of the Center. (It is to be recalled that two groups of specialists and managers of Cupet company had already been trained in 2018.)
Another major international project in 2018 was the training of two groups of specialists of AO Maten Petroleum (Kazakhstan). A unique on-site training program “Modern methods of carrying out well servicing and well- workover operations” was provided for the company’s employees in Atyrau.
The year 2018 appeared to be fruitful for cooperation between the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of IGPT KFU and PAO “Tatneft. 200 employees of the company have been retrained upon different programs including 8 on-job training program.A unique program for the managers of the Department of extraction of super viscous oil of PAO “Tatneft “ headed by Marat Amerkhanov has been designed and realized. A great achievement was the increase in providing distance education. 23% of educational programs of the Center are implemented using online training technology. Thus, a new for the Center customized training program ” Cadastral Activity” supervised by Ada Zaydullina, the Head of the Office of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography of the Republic of Tatarstan, is implemented completely virtually, connecting students to a special educational platform and conducting regular webinars. In order to increase the total instruction hours and improve the content of distance-learning programs “Distance Education Project Incubator” has been designed at the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies.
It is worth noting that 175 teachers were providing additional professional education programs at the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies, 70 of them were invited experts from partner universities, oil industry companies and specialists from companies developing advanced technologies, such as Schlumberger company.
”We managed to conduct 49% of educational programs through interaction with external partners. Of the total number of programs implemented, 30% are on-site courses. Mobility and flexibility of the staff members of the Center allowed to increase the number of students by 37% in 2018 “, said Ildus Chukmarov.
Along with the experienced professors and teachers of the Institute, the young employees (former graduates) of the Insitute are also involved in the implementation of additional professional education programs. Rustam Zinyukov, Igor Ognev, Sergey Usmanov and Lenar Minikhairov had been trained at the Petroleum Institute and the National Geological Institute in France. Boris Platov graduated from the University of Calgary (Canada). Their skills and knowledge were highly appreciated by the program participants.(Boris Platov was recognized as the best teacher of the Center).
The award of the title of “Honorary Oil-Industry Worker” to Ildus Adgamovich Chukmarov, director of the Center, appeared to be another important event on New Year’s Eve, this being appreciation of his services and increasing possibilities of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of IGPT KFU in providing education for a specific field of the Fuel&Energy Complex in Russia.
