Representatives of the leading German oil and gas company visited KFU
The delegation of the German Wintershall Holding GmbH oil and gas company visited the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies and the Chemical Institute named after A.M. Butlerov of Kazan Federal University.
Wintershall is a subsidiary of the world’s largest chemical concern BASF and is engaged in the search and production of oil and gas in Europe, North Africa, North and South America, as well as in Russia and the Caspian Sea region.
“We came to get acquainted with the laboratory and research opportunities of Kazan Federal University in the field of oil production. We have heard a lot about the specialists of the University and their developments and hope to manage a joint productive work”, – shared Samir Alakbarov, Wintershall project manager.
Mikhail Varfolomeyev, the head of the Department of Development and Operation of Hard-to-Recover Hydrocarbon Reservoir of the IGPT and the supervisor of “Ecooil” research work, Anton Kolchugin, the Deputy Director for Research of the IGPT and Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Marketing of the IGPT and Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing told the guests about the laboratory capabilities that are part of “Ecooil” and the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing.
The guests were shown the “Analytical Microscopy” Interdisciplinary Center, “TRIZ Modeling” REC and the laboratory of pilot installations of oil displacement. The outcome of the visit was a round table talk during which a joint project on chemical flooding was discussed.
