Advanced Training Course on Seismic Interpretation has started at CdoGEO IGPT KFUAleksei Stepanov
On September 19, the Seismic Interpretation advanced training program started at the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing (CdoGEO) of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies, KFU. The course participants are employees of NK Rosneft-NTC, Novatek NTC, Tyumen Petroleum Research Center, LUKOIL-Engineering.
During the five-day program, students will gain knowledge of kinematic and dynamic interpretation of seismic data, including working with VSP data, velocity models and mapping. The program also covers sequence stratigraphic and seismostratigraphic interpretation, attributive analysis, AVO analysis and seismic inversion. The practical part includes a velocity model construction, structure maps calculation.
Lectures on this course are delivered by Boris Platov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Hard-To-Recover Hydrocarbons Development and Operation of IGPT KFU.
The training is carried out in a hybrid format: part of the listeners is at the Institute and are engaged in full-time training, the second part of listeners study remotely via webinars and using Digital Educational Resources (DER).
Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Marketing, Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing (CdoGEO), welcoming the attendees, told about the history of the once Kazan Imperial University, its famous rectors, students and alumni. Special attention should be paid to the building of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies, which was built for a theological seminary in the 30s of the 18th century and which is located in the courtyard of the Peter and Paul Cathedral.
“KFU maintains the traditions of a classical university, harmoniously combining them with advanced technologies,” noted Ildus Chukmarov. “In 2020 IGPT became a World-Class Research Center, CdoGEO also became a part of it. As part of the project, we have developed a number of professional retraining and advanced training programs in the most relevant and demanded areas.”
