PJSC “Rosneft” continues to train its employees remotely at KFU

“ArcGIS Desktop II: Tools and Functionality” and “ArcGIS Desktop III: Well Logging and Analysis Workflows” advanced training courses has started for employees of  LLC “BashNIPIneft” (a division of PJSC Rosneft) at the Center for Advanced Training of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan Federal University.

“I would like to note that this is already the ninth program, which is being implemented as a distance learning with webinars for BashNIPIneft this year. Since the beginning of 2020, 42 employees of this enterprise have studied at the Center in 14 different programs, including full-time ones. Despite the fact that CATQMM has already opened its doors to full-time students, many of them prefer distance learning. So this is quite the same for our long-term partner and customer, BashNIPIneft LLC. The center has extensive experience in implementing programs in various forms,” said Ildus Chukmarov, Director of CATQMM.

Within five days, six employees of the company will study the functionality of the ArcGIS geoinformation system, as well as acquire practical skills in working with the program under the guidance of Inna Chernova, Associate Professor of the Department of Geophysics and Geoinformation Technologies of IGPT, Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences. Inna Chernova has been working in the field of GIS since 2000, she is an Honorary Worker of the Education of the Russian Federation, a member of the Euro-Asian Geophysical Society and GIS-Association, a certified ESRI instructor.

Back in 2000, the Faculty of Geology of KFU won the right to receive and use a software package from ESRI companies for free, a year later, a classroom was opened on the basis of the Department of Geophysics to teach students the basics of GIS using ESRI software products. Later, the Center for Geoinformation Technologies was established. In 2008, the “Kazan-GIS-Studio”, the Center for Geoinformation Technologies of the Geological Faculty of KFU was certified in accordance with international standards established by the Institute for Environmental Systems Research (USA, California) and today is an ESRI Authorized Center. Twice at the annual international conference of ESRI users in Russia and the CIS countries, Kazan-GIS-Studio was recognized as one of the best educational centers in Russia and was awarded a diploma and a special badge “For outstanding contribution to the development of educational services in the field of GIS technologies and the popularization of software products of ESRI and ERDAS companies”.
