Specialists of Lukoil and Surgutneftegaz covered the advanced training program at KFU
The ceremony of delivery of certificates on advanced training to a group of managers and specialists of the Tyumen branch of SurgutNIPIneft, VolgogradNIPImorneft and KogalymNIPIneft took place in the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing at the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of KFU. They covered the programs on“ Practical Sedimentology” and “Formation fluids study: from sampling to modeling’ provided by lead instructors and professors of Kazan Federal University, St. Petersburg State University and Gazprom Neft specialist Aleksey Lobanov.
Lectures on the Practical Sedimentology covered scientific study of sedimentary rocks, origin and interpretation of sediments, core analysis, geochemical research methods, computed tomography, and the use of geophysical research data, such as GIS and seismic surveys. The practical part included: works with core material, analysis of post-sedimentary changes in rocks, analysis of sections, as well as a visit to a computer tomography laboratory to study well-logging methods.
The training program on “Study of reservoir fluids: from sampling to modeling” included some theory on field study of reservoir fluids and many practical applications in conducting experiments. The participants examined in detail classification of reservoir fluid study, standard PVT analysis, non-traditional PVT analysis: PVT in the pore space, thermophysical measurements, visual methods etc.
Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Marketing of the Institute of GPT of KFU and Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing noted that VolgogradNIPImorneft and KogalymNIPIneft are divisions of LUKOIL-Engineering , which is the center for managing all innovative activities of LUKOIL: “In October, 27 top managers of LUKOIL-Engineering headed by the Director General Vadim Voevodkin visited Kazan Federal University and got acquainted with the developments of scientists in the field of oil production, oil refining and petrochemicals. Soon after their visit we hosted the employees of LUKOIL-PERM and LUKOIL-Kom headed by Alexander Mitroshin, deputy director for research. During the meeting we agreed to expand our cooperation, including advanced training programs of company employees. ”
