Center for Advanced Training concludes another successful year

In 2024, 1,324 people from 273 oil and gas companies completed training, including Rosneft (and subsidiaries), Gazprom (and subsidiaries), Surgutneftegaz, LUKOIL (and subsidiaries), Gazprom Neft, and Tatneft. 1,091 students improved their qualifications, 136 underwent professional retraining, 209 certificates were issued, 60 students of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies (IGPT) were trained to become 3rd category oil and gas production operators and received a certificate. Over the year, CdoGEO implemented 153 programs in the most relevant areas: geology, oil and gas, geophysics, hydrogeology, mine surveying, metrology, engineering and geological surveys.

In 2024, 409 employees of Rosneft were trained in 12 programs as part of the agreement. Based on client satisfaction surveys, 22 groups showed an average satisfaction level of 5.5 points out of 6.

During the implementation of the programs, CdoGEO broke its record for the number of in-person students in one week – 128 people; in a month, the record figure was 342 students. As in previous years, CdoGEO remains an exporter of KFU’s continuing professional education programs. In the outgone year, 61 people from such countries as Cuba (39), Belarus (6), Kazakhstan (15), Colombia (1) were trained at the Center.

CdoGEO continues to cooperate on the network implementation of programs of additional professional education with partners, including Mirrico Group, Zarubezhneft, Geonaft (Tsifra Group), TNG Group, and the All-Russian Research Institute of Flow Measurement (ARIFM).

IGPT with support from CdoGEO opened the Laboratory of Petrophysics and Physics of Oil Reservoir, sponsored by Rosneft. Together with REGLAB LLC and the Scientific and Production Enterprise GKS, an automation and metrology laboratory is under development. KFU also became a resident of the Bars Center in Tatarstan.

With CdoGEO’s participation, a memorandum of understanding was signed between KFU and Petroleos de Venezuela in Caracas, where President Nicolás Maduro Moros was personally present.

Bashneftegeofizika company expressed its gratitude to IGPT and presented an interactive 89-inch display LUMIEN LMP8603HL for the educational process.

With the support of CdoGEO, cooperation with Chinese partners – Kerui Group – is developing. A joint laboratory is set to open in 2025, and the two sides also plan to target Chinese nationals for bachelor’s studies recruitment.

Cooperation with Cuba’s national oil company, CUPET, also continues. This year, 39 employees were trained in Cuba in “Technologies for oil production from reservoirs with hard-to-recover reserves” and “Modern technologies for enterprise management in the oil and gas industry (operational management)”. The plans for 2025 include the short course “Non-seismic methods for searching for hydrocarbon deposits” for CUPET employees in Kazan.

In 2024, thanks to a grant received by CdoGEO, free of charge training in the profession of “Oil and Gas Production Operator of the 3rd category” was organized for third-year bachelor’s students of IGPT.

In 2024, CdoGEO continued to implement programs as part of the Center for Liquid Hydrocarbons. 816 people completed training at the CLH courses.

CdoGEO courses are implemented jointly with KFU teachers and leading experts from oil and gas companies. A total of 172 people took part in the implementation of the programs, of which 74 were external experts.

The programs were conducted jointly with leading specialists of the Mirrico Group of Companies Artur Mikhel and Sergey Yaskevich, an expert in geodesy Mikhail Karavanov, Director of LLC NPK Geopoligon KFU Aidar Zagretdinov, Director of LLC Eridan Rafik Nazarov, deputy head of the department of Tatneft-Dobycha Damir Gilayev, and Georgy Mozgovoy.
