CATQMM at the Tatarstan Oil and Gas Chemical Forum 2020

CATQMM at the Tatarstan Oil and Gas Chemical Forum 2020

On September 2, the opening of the Tatarstan Oil and Gas Chemical Forum – 2020 took place at the site of the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center. Kazan Federal University traditionally took part in the important event for the Republic.

On the first day of the exhibition, KFU Rector Ilshat Gafurov and KFU Vice-rector for Research Danis Nurgaliev, Director of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies, and Vladislav Sudakov, IGPT Deputy Director for Innovation, presented to President of Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov the work in the field of microbiology to increase oil recovery, as well as development experience in digital products for oil and gas companies. Danis Nurgaliev also made a presentation on the development of large and giant oil fields at a late stage, the rational development of the planet’s liquid hydrocarbon reserves at the plenary session of the conference “On a new paradigm for the development of oil and gas geology.”

The Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of IGPT KFU traditionally took part in the 10th specialized exhibition “GEO-KAZAN: Geological exploration. Geodesy. Cartography “and the IX International Scientific and Practical Conference” Topical Issues of Geodesy and Geoinformation Systems”. The Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies, together with the Department of Astronomy and Space Geodesy of the Institute of Physics of Kazan Federal University, have been participating in the organization of the conference since its inception. Associate Professor of the Department of Astronomy and Space Geodesy Renat Zagretdinov and Deputy Director of IGPT, Director of CATQMM Ildus Chukmarov were among the organizers of the very first specialized exhibition “GEO-KAZAN” -2011.

Danis Nurgaliev opened the plenary session of the conference “Topical issues of geodesy and geoinformation systems”: “Despite the problems that exist today, the issues of geodesy and geographic information systems are still relevant and their relevance is only increasing. Today GIS, geodesy and satellite systems are included in all areas. Today our students are developing GIS even for medicine. As for the oil and gas industry, the KFU is currently creating a “geodynamic testing ground” observation system for Tatneft, which will automatically supply data that will be analyzed in bigdata mode. If hundreds of GNSS stations, which are currently in Tatarstan are united, it will be a colossal system that will provide unique information”.

The second day of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Topical Issues of Geodesy and Geoinformation Systems” was held in Kazan Federal University. The participants visited the Department of Astronomy and Space Geodesy and the City Astronomical Observatory, where Renat Zagretdinov and Trimble’s official representative Mikhail Karavanov demonstrated various geodetic equipment used to solve problems of cadastre, surveys and urban planning.

“Since its foundation, our Center has been actively developing educational activities in the field of geodesy and mine surveying. We annually improve qualifications and retrain managers and specialists in our Center. Over the past two years alone, more than 150 employees of the mine surveying service of PJSC TATNEFT have been trained in various advanced training and professional retraining programs. This year, 30 employees of the company successfully completed their distance learning which is actual in the context of the pandemic. I would like to note that CATQMM has made a good showing of its distance learning, in connection with which the management of the TATNEFT mine surveying service decided to continue our cooperation and train two more groups of employees remotely using the new ArcGis programs and unmanned aerial vehicles together with partners,” said Ildus Adagmovich.

Ildus Adgamovich also noted that advanced training programs in “geodesy”, “mine surveying” and “cadastral surveying” are being implemented with the participation of long-term partner of the Center and the University – the Trimble company (USA). During the conference, the rector of KFU Ilshat Gafurov, Danis Karlovich met with the company’s delegation. Later, in the Incubator of Distance Educational Projects of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of the Kazan Federal University, the third video lecture of the official representative Mikhail Karavanov was traditionally recorded. These lectures are quite popular on the Center’s official youtube channel.

“The multimedia content created by the Center is used not only within the framework of advanced training programs, bachelors and masters programs, but also with the aim of attracting University applicants. In this regard, we offered the company representatives to implement a joint project – a publicly available multimedia educational resource (our own MOOC) based on two brands – Kazan Federal University and Trimble. An example of such a project is the opengeo.kpfu.ru website. This is a publicly available multimedia educational resource created according to the principle “1 course – 1 website”, – added Ildus Adgamovich.

At present, it is also planned to create a similar project with NPF “PAKER”. This will be a distance course on the development, production and use of packer-anchor equipment.

In 2013, during the third specialized exhibition “GEO-KAZAN: Geological exploration. Geodesy. Cartography ”a cooperation agreement was signed between KFU and Trimble, in which the company provides the university with discounts on the purchase of equipment donating a part of the new technologies and software to the university.

“This year we have strengthened our cooperation with the university and presented the Department of Space Geodesy and Astronomy with a set of satellite equipment. In addition, I regularly participate as a teacher in advanced courses that take place in March at the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing. And in 2021 we also plan to take part in them,” said Mikhail Karavanov.

The program “Topical issues of organizing and conducting geodetic, mine surveying, land management and methods of remote sensing of the Earth in mine surveying” is held annually in March and gathers a large number of participants from all over Russia. The fact is that both suppliers of new technologies and representatives of various ministries and departments take part in its implementation, which makes the program unique in its kind.

Meetings with representatives of the following companies were also held within the framework of the Tatarstan Petrochemical Forum: PJSC TATNEFT, PJSC Transneft, JSC Ritek, GC TAIF and others.
