CdoGEO IGPT KFU expands cooperation with Uzbekistan
Employees of the State Institution “IGIRNIGM” and JSC “Uzbekgeofizika” arrived in Kazan for advanced training in the form of an internship . For three months, they will study at the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing (CdoGEO) of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of the Kazan Federal University according to the programs created at their special request. The programs are “Geophysical support in prospecting, exploration and oil&gas field management ” and “Geophysical support for prospecting and exploration of oil and gas fields.”
Training in the first program has 400 hours in 12 modules: “Petrophysics and geophysics in petroleum geology”, “Open hole well logging data interpretation”, “Seismic data interpretation”, “Practical application of geostatistics in the construction of geological models”, “Modern well logging methods”, “Topical issues of geological modeling”, “Sequence -stratigraphy”, “Calculation and recalculation of oil and gas reserves”, “Fundamentals of geological modeling”, “Oilfield management by methods of field geophysics”, “Methods of enhanced oil recovery”
Training under the program “Geophysical support of prospecting and exploration of oil and gas fields” lasts 320 hours and is composed of nine following modules: “Petrophysics and geophysics in petroleum geology”, “Open hole well logging data interpretation”, “Seismic data interpretation”, “Practical application of geostatistics in the construction of geological models”, “Modern well logging methods”, “Topical issues of geological modeling”, “Sequence -stratigraphy”, “Calculation and recalculation of oil and gas reserves”, “Fundamentals of geological modeling”
According to Uzbek specialists, they learned about advanced training at CdoGEO IGPT KFU during a meeting with Ildus Chukmarov, deputy director of IGPT for marketing, director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing (CdoGEO).
It should be reminded that in May, a delegation of Kazan Federal University consisting of Vice-Rector for Petroleum Technologies, Environmental Management and Earth Sciences, Director of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of the Kazan Federal University Danis Nurgaliev, Deputy Director for Marketing, Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Innovation Vladislav Sudakov, Head of the Department of Hard-To-Recover Hydrocarbons Development and Operation Mikhail Varfolomeev, Engineer of the Research Laboratory for Enhanced Oil Recovery Methods Rail Kadyrov visited the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the trip, the KFU delegation held meetings with representatives of Uzbekgeofizika JSC, IGIRNIGM State Institution, the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Geology and Mineral Resources, ERIELL International Oil Service Group, Jizzakh Petroleum JV LLC, O`ZLITINEFTGAZ JSC, Gas Project Development Central Asia AG and Geo Reserch and Company LLC.
“The quality of education at Kazan Federal University is highly valued both in Russia and abroad,” says Leyla Sharafutdinova, student of the program, head of the Education Quality Control Department at the University of Geological Sciences.
Studying at IGPT interested me after seeing lectures by Svetlana Zorina and Boris Platov on the CdoGEO YouTube channel. The decisive moment in choosing an institute for advanced training was the meeting with Ildus Adgamovich, who spoke in detail about the possibilities of CdoGEO.”
Leyla Sharafutdinova noted that she had worked at the State Institution “IGIRNIGM” for 15 years. She is a Candidate of Sciences in Oil and gas prospecting and exploration. The main goal of training at CdoGEO is to learn new methods and use them at my job. She also plans to continue working on her doctoral dissertation on the basis of the methods studied.
It should be noted that the training of citizens of Uzbekistan at CdoGEO became possible thanks to the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation for training specialists abroad and dialogue with compatriots, which provides grants for training in leading world universities for master’s programs, doctoral studies, as well as internships and advanced training courses.
“After the trip to Uzbekistan, we formed a commercial proposal for an internship for employees of the State Institution“IGIRNIGM ”, JSC “Uzbekgeofizika”and JV LLC“Jizzakh Petroleum”. For this, we have developed three new programs with the required modules in relevant areas. Our goal is to educate students so that they apply knowledge in their work for the benefit of the economy of Uzbekistan. In the near future we are starting to implement a special program “Topical Issues of Oil and Gas Fields Development” for Jizzakh Petroleum JV LLC (162 hours, 4 modules) with a visit to Uzbekistan (the city of Karshi).
We look forward to expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan on the implementation of advanced training courses. This is the fifth country for CdoGEO this year.”
Director of CdoGEO Ildus Chukmarov also invited students to apply for courses developed within the framework of the World-class Research Center (WCRC).
