The results of, and prospects for collaboration between KFU and Cupet

In Havana, a  group of 20 managers and specialists  of Cupet  oil company have completed an advanced training program provided by the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies The course on reservoir hydrodynamic modeling was given by the deputy director of the REC “Hard to recover reserves” of the IGPT Sergey Usmanov  who was highly esteemed by the participants.

The first group of Cuba specialists had already been trained upon the program “Statistical geological modeling” in November this year. It is worth mentioning  that  Kazan Federal University and  Cuba Tecnomatica (Cupet) company had signed an agreement on  the provision for  advanced training services. About two hundred managers and specialists of the enterprise  are expected to be trained on ten different programs in  the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing  at the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies at KFU.

Sergey Usmanov  said that both the managers and the specialists of the Cupet company highly appreciate the  advances of  Kazan Federal University  in the field of mining of hard-to-recover reserves, as well as  the quality of teaching and the skills of university teachers.

The participant of the program Norma Rodriguez Martinez, a senior research officer of Cuba National Oil Company said: “I would like Norma to note the high level of teaching from a professor Sergey Anatolyevich Borisov who presented up-to-date and important information and made it easy to understand. The training offered by the course will certainly be of practical use in solving our production tasks “.

Ildus Chukmarov, director of the Center, noted that the year 2018 has been fruitful for cooperation between Kazan Federal University and Cupet companies. In the coming 2019 year  8 more refresher training curricular as well as «Рetroleum Engineering»  professional retraining program should be provided to meet future challenges  in Havana.
