IGPT KFU develops cooperation with Udmurtneftegeofizika LLC

On September 13, the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan Federal University was paid a working visit by Deputy General Director of Udmurtneftegeofizika LLC for seismic research Timur Galeev and Chief Geophysicist of Udmurtneftegeofizika LLC Alexander Korolev.

The meeting was opened by Danis Nurgaliev, Vice-Rector for Petroleum Technologies, Environmental Management and Geosciences, Director of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of the Kazan Federal University. Also at the event there were Deputy Director for Innovation Vladislav Sudakov, Research Engineer of IGPT KFU Bulat Gareev, 1st Category Engineer Eduard Ziganshin, Head of the Department of Geophysics and Geoinformation Technologies Damir Khasanov.

Opening the meeting, Danis Nurgaliev said that in 2020, on the basis of IGPT KFU, it was created the “Rational development of liquid hydrocarbon reserves of the planet” World-Class Research Center (WCRC) in the field of environmentally friendly resource-saving energy, effective rational use of subsoil and biological resources. The consortium also includes Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas Ufa State Petroleum Technical University and Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology.

“The creation of the Rational Development of Liquid Hydrocarbon Reserves of the Planet WCRC will allow our country to become a leader in the development and implementation of new technologies for the development of oil fields, and will also make a huge contribution to ensuring the stability of the country’s oil and gas industry for the coming decades,” said Danis Nurgaliev.

Then Mr. Nurgaliev introduced the guests to the GTO-VM technology for assessing oil and gas potential of the territories. Danis Nurgaliev spoke in detail about the advantages of this method and provided examples of the successful application of the technology by leading oil and gas companies.

After the meeting, the guests visited the Laboratory of Isotope and Elemental Analysis, where IGPT employees are engaged in scientific activities in the field of isotopic geochemistry, in particular oil and gas geochemistry, chemostratigraphy and isotope geochronology.

“LLC “Udmurtneftegeofizika” provides oil and gas producing companies with high-quality solutions in the field of data acquisition, field studies and seismic surveys, as well as their further processing and interpretation,” says Danis Nurgaliev. We are going to cooperate with the company in the field of non-seismic surveys, namely the search and exploration of hydrocarbon deposits using “light” methods such as magnetic prospecting, gravity prospecting, electrical exploration and geochemical technologies. In particular, together with OOO Udmurtneftegeofizika, it was decided to conduct experimental geochemical studies of oil and gas fields within the framework of the WCRC. This project will start next week.”

After visiting the laboratories, the guests from LLC Udmurtneftegeofizika were shown the 3D GEO Center, where students learn to build geological and reservoir simulation models. Here they were met by Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Marketing of IGPT, Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing (CdoGEO).

Mr. Chukmarov mentioned that CdoGEO is an exporter of additional professional education programs. This year, courses were implemented for China, Vietnam and Latvia.

“We are glad to see representatives of LLC Udmurtneftegeofizika,” says Ildus Chukmarov. The company is actively developing, which also requires staff competencies development. CdoGEO implements advanced training programs in the field of geodesy, topography, seismic exploration, well logging, and is ready to develop new courses in accordance with the company’s requirements in the requested areas. We intend to prepare a series of advanced training programs on the operation of modern technical means of seismic exploration”.

“The management of LLC Udmurtneftegeofizika is confident that every successful oil and gas company should rely on relevant research in its work, which can only be obtained in such specialized research centers as the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of the Kazan Federal University,” says Alexander Korolev. “Our company plans to develop methods in the field of production optimization that will help raise LLC Udmurtneftegeofizika to a higher level. Today, together with IGPT KFU, we made the first decisions that will contribute to the further development of our cooperation.”
