Delegation of the Brazilian Embassy in Moscow visited IGPT KFU

First Secretary of the Brazilian Embassy in Moscow, Head of the Department of Culture and Cooperation in Education, Press and Public Diplomacy Álvaro Augusto Guedes Galvani and attaché of the Brazilian Embassy, ​​the Department of Public Diplomacy, Press, Culture and Education Gabriele Costa Guadanin paid a working visit to the Institute of Geology and PetroleumTechnologies of Kazan Federal University.

At IGPT, the delegation was met by the Vice-Rector for Research of the Kazan Federal University, Director of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies Danis Nurgaliev and Deputy Director for Marketing, Head of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing (CdoGEO) Ildus Chukmarov.

The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the research developments of IGPT and discuss the possibilities of cooperation.

Ildus Chukmarov introduced the laboratory facilities, educational laboratories, technical and computer equipment of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies to the delegates. Alvaro Galvani and Gabriele Guadanin visited the laboratory of isotope and elemental analysis, where the specialist demonstrated the Romanov spectrometer and isotope mass spectrometer. In the X-ray computed tomography laboratory, the guests were shown the General Electric V|tome|X S 24 nanofocus research X-ray system for computed tomography (Germany). In the laboratory, scientists perform pore-scale modeling, industrial defectoscopy, and study the structures of porosity and fracturing.

The Institute houses a multifunctional center for geological and reservoir simulation modeling “3D GEO Center” with academic licenses of software products from the world’s leading software developers for teaching students of IGPT. Here at “3D GEO Center” Ildus Chukmarov introduced in more detail the possibilities of the Center for Advanced Training. Thus, 38 international advanced training programs have been developed at CdoGEO. The center is already an exporter of advanced training programs.
