IGPT KFU and China University of Petroleum (UPC) agreed to implement a double degree program

On April 11, a meeting was held via videoconferencing between the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan Federal University and the China University of Petroleum (UPC). The meeting was attended by  Deputy Director of IGPT for Marketing, Director of Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing (CdoGEO) Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director of IGPT KFU for Educational Activities Florida Fazlyeva, Senior Lecturer of IGPT KFU Boris Platov, Specialist in International Students of IGPT KFU Roxana Karimullina.

The participants from UPC: Deputy Director of the International Department Yu Jixian, Head of the Student Mobility Department Liu Lina, Responsible for work with graduates Zhang Xing, responsible for Geological Sciences San Xiaodong, Li Yong and specialist in foreign affairs, translator Ekaterina Fomenko.

“We agreed on the implementation of double-degree master’s programs in English in the areas of Geology and Petroleum Engineering,” says Florida Fazlyeva. – Four UPC students will take part in the program. The start of training is scheduled for September 2023. Also during the conversation, we discussed the possibility of holding an academic exchange program for masters and graduate students in 2024.”

“CdoGEO is successfully developing cooperation with UPC in the field of additional professional education,” says Ildus Chukmarov. “We have trained six groups of students from China University of Petroleum.  The “Reservoir Modelling: Basin Analysis, Static Geological Model, Reservoir Simulation and CO2 Sequestration” and “Carbonate Reservoirs: Sedimentology, Secondary Processes and Investigation Methods” “Hydrocarbons as a Source of Hydrogen”, “Well Logging”, “New Technologies in Applied Geology” programs were implemented in the form of webinars and videoconferences.  It is gratifying that this cooperation became the basis for the implementation of joint master’s programs.”
