UPC students completed two advanced training programs at CdoGEO KFU

The Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing (CdoGEO) of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of the Kazan Federal University completed the training of students from the China University of Petroleum Qingdao (UPC) in the following two advanced training programs: “Applied geophysics new technologies” and “Geophysical Well logging Method”. The training lasted from April to May 2021.

As part of these courses, teachers from KFU, as well as partners of CdoGEO, told students from China about the latest technologies in the field of well logging, core analysis, technology for conducting and interpreting seismic exploration, geomechanical and reservoir simulation modeling.

The courses were given by the following KFU employees: Senior Lecturer of the Department of Development and Operation of Hard-to-Recover Hydrocarbon Fields of IGPT KFU Boris Platov, Category 1 Engineer of IGPT KFU Aleksei Stepanov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Development and Operation of Hard-to-Recover Hydrocarbon Fields of IGPT Igor Ognev, Senior Lecturer Department of Geophysics and Geoinformation Technologies of IGPT, Deputy Director of IGPT EOR Center Sergey Usmanov, Engineer of IGPT EOR Center Alexey Delev.

Our partners, TNG-GROUP LLC and PJSC “GEOTECH Seismic Exploration” also took part in the implementation of the courses. Thus, the lectures were delivered by the head of the expedition for the introduction of new technologies of TNG-Group LLC Maxim Mikheev, employee of TNG-GROUP LLC Almaz Sattarov, chief specialist of the Scientific and Technical Center, representative of PJSC “GEOTECH Seismic Survey” Anatoly Cherepovsky.

The students were satisfied with the high level of teaching, the hospitality of the teachers and their ability to simply explain complex things.

“It is gratifying that our cooperation with China continues to expand,” says Ildus Chukmarov, Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing (CdoGEO). The history of friendly relations with China began in 2015, when CdoGEO together with Hechuan LLC carried out an internship for managers and employees of TNG-Group LLC at premises of COSL and CNPC CPL companies (Beijing and Xi’an) under the Modern geophysical and geodetic methods and technologies of seismic exploration” and “Geosteering support during drilling” programs. In 2017, a KFU delegation headed by KFU Vice-Rector for Research, Director of IGPT Danis Nurgaliev paid a working visit to China. This trip contributed to the development of relations in all areas of IGPT’s activities. In 2021, we started a new stage of cooperation in the field of continuing professional education – we began the implementation of distance courses included in the basic education process for Chinese students. We are glad that the course attendees are satisfied. In the future, we plan to organize full-time courses for Chinese students. “
