IGPT KFU was visited by a delegation from the Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology (China)
On January 23, the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan Federal University was visited by a delegation from the Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology (China). It included teachers and the dean of the Department of Intelligent Manufacturing and Electrical Engineering, Liang Sihong. The delegation joined Director of the Department of External Relations of KFU Olga Vershinina.
The visit took place as part of a two-week internship, which the Guangzhou Institute’s employees are undergoing at KFU from January 22 to February 1.
At the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies, the guests were met by Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director of IGPT for Marketing, Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing (CdoGEO). He represented the 3D GEO Center, a lab for visualization of geological and geophysical data and spoke about the history of Kazan University and IGPT, the main achievements and cooperation of CdoGEO with China, which has been established since 2016. Over the past three years alone, more than 100 people have completed training at the Center. Ildus Chukmarov spoke in more detail about international advanced training and professional retraining programs and invited the institute’s employees to Kazan.
“We are able to organize training for you in any format: full-time, part-time, in the form of internships, summer schools and with field trips to geological sites,” he said. – Most teachers speak English and are ready to work without an interpreter. Courses are conducted in the most current areas: geology, geophysics, petroleum engineering, hydrogeology, metrology, surveying and others.”
Then, employees of the Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology were shown the another laboratories of IGPT: Laboratory of Isotope and Elemental Analysis, whose researchers work in the field of isotope geochemistry, in particular oil and gas geochemistry, chemostratigraphy and isotope geochronology. In addition, the guests visited the x-ray computed tomography laboratory and the Geomechanics Laboratory.
“Currently, a group of teachers from the People’s Republic of China is on an internship at Kazan University. Guangzhou University is developing dynamically, and the group includes teachers from the Department of Intelligent Manufacturing and Electrical Engineering. Colleagues will spend two weeks with us, the main part of the internship will take place at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Systems Engineering of Kazan Federal University,” said Olga Vershinina.
“We really enjoyed the tour of the university and institute,” says Liang Sihong. – I was especially interested in the history of the university, teaching methods, and laboratories. I first came to Kazan Federal University 20 years ago. Today is my second visit to this university; the rest of the group’s teachers have not visited KFU before.”
