KFU and Rosneft on the way to new joint projects
The presentation days of Rosneft were held at the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan Federal University.
Within the framework of this event 27 managers and specialists of Rosneft got acquainted with the university’s infrastructure and capabilities of the laboratories in the field of oil production, refining and petrochemistry, and held meetings and negotiations with the management of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies.
“We are already actively cooperating with the divisions of PAO Rosneft both in the field of contract-based activities and additional professional education. The agreement that had been signed between Rosneft and Kazan Federal University opens up great prospects for expanding our cooperation”, shared Danis Nurgaliyev, the Vice-rector for Research of KFU and the Director of IGPT.
Mikhail Varfolomeev, Ecooi priority research area manager and the Head of the Department of Development and Operation of Hard-to-Recover Hydrocarbon fields of the IGPT, showed the Chemical Institute around, as well as its research laboratories “Industrial Catalysis”, “In-situ Combustion”, “Geochemistry of Oil and Gas” and also told about the advanced developments of KFU scientists.
Anton Kolchugin, Deputy Director of IGPT for Research, briefed Rosneft employees on the up-to-date laboratories of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies: “Isotopic and Elemental Analysis”, “X-ray Computed Tomography”, “Petrophysics Laboratory”.
Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director of IGGTT and Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing told the participants of the meeting about the advanced professional retraining programs, individual distance education trajectories and Incubator of distance education projects. He informed that in total, about 1000 specialists from oil and gas companies of Russia, as well as some foreign companies, are trained annually at the Center.
Vladislav Sudakov , Deputy Director of the Institute for Innovative Research, told the guests about the unique equipment and developments of scientists of the REC “TRIZ Modeling”. The attention of the guests was attracted by the “Combustion pipe” installation, which allows to simulate steam and gravity drainage, intra-layer combustion, and various thermal and chemical processes of enhanced oil recovery.
During the concluding meeting, representatives of the company – Dmitry Ganichev, Head of the Department of the Field- Geological Control for Offshore Development, Boris Nikishin, Manager of the Personnel Department of PAO Rosneft, showed interest in some investigations conducted by the university scientists and also in advanced professional education programs, in particular, distance learning programs.
