KFU provided training for Cuban oil industry workers in Varadero
In Varadero, the oil province of Cuba, a group of 20 managers and specialists of the state oil company of Cuba successfully completed their training on the program “Modern Methods for well servicing and workover”, this being the eighth group participating in the programs of the CCATQMM of IGPT.
The program was created by Raushan Sabiryanov, teaching assistant of the Department of Development and Operation of Hard-to-Recover Hydrocarbon Reservoir of the IGPT, jointly with Evgeny Shevyakov, a partner of the Center, a specialist of “CAPREMSERVICE”. During the lectures Yevgeny Shevyakov told the Cuban colleagues about the equipment for repair and overhaul, protection and safety measures, killing wells and many other aspects of well servicing and workover.
Kazan University and CUPET partnership began in 2015 with providing advanced training courses for Cupet specialists on constructing geological and hydrodynamic models of oil deposits by the Center for Continuing Education of IGPT. Later, in 2016, a group of specialists of the company was admitted to master’s program on “Oil and Gas Engineering”. In 2018, the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of IGPT concluded the major contract on provision of advanced training services for 200 managers and specialists of a foreign enterprise upon ten different programs (160 of them have already been provided).
IGPT of KFU and the state oil company of Cuba are currently cooperating in different areas. Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Marketing of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan Federal University and Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing regularly takes part in the events related to the development of Russian-Cuban relations at various levels, including meetings and talks in the Embassy of Cuba and the Ministry of Education and Science of RF. The second group of specialists of the company began training at the preparatory faculty for foreign students, after finishing one-year preparatory courses they will be admitted to the IGPT of KFU.
In addition, a delegation of the CEINPET Petroleum Research Center headed by the General Director visited KFU to take part in the meeting with the leading enterprises of the Russian oil and gas industry. The guests showed a keen interest in further cooperation with the university scientists. It is worth noting that the technology of KFU scientists has been used in the development of the first horizontal well of the Boka de Haruko field, in the launching ceremony of which the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev took part.
“Our cooperation with Cuba began four years ago, the first step being provision of the programs for Cuban colleagues free of charge. As a result, we see the respond of CUPET management and their willingness to extend the contract in the coming years of 2020 and 2021. The Center is showing rapid growth in all respects. For now, we have already managed to achieve planned targets for the year, and there are still three months ahead, ”said Ildus Chukmarov.
