The breakthrough project of 2023 was the training of 598 employees of PJSC NK Rosneft in 12 programs as part of a tender. Participants highly praised the course organization, with an average satisfaction rating of 5.4 out of 6.

During the project implementation, CdoGEO set a record for the number of in-person participants in one week – 101 individuals – and a monthly record of 300 participants.

As in previous years, CdoGEO continues to export additional professional education programs from Kazan Federal University. In the reporting year, 36 individuals from China (8), Belarus (1), Kazakhstan (24), and Uzbekistan (3) underwent training at the Center.

Following its motto “We integrate everybody’s possibilities for the success of everyone,” CdoGEO continues to collaborate with partners, including Mirrico Group, Zarubezhneft JSC, Geonaft (Digit Group), VNIIIR – a branch of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “VNIIIM named after D.M. Mendeleev,” LLC “TNG-Group,” and foreign companies.

In 2023, the Center expanded its collaboration with the TAGRAS holding. On August 31, the Geological Center, created through donations from LLC “TNG-Group,” was opened at IGPT KFU. The significant event was attended by the General Director of TAGRAS Holding Lenar Nazipov and the General Director of LLC “TNG-Group,” and CdoGEO graduate of IGPT KFU Yan Sharipov.

In 2023, CdoGEO developed the “Geosynergy” project, integrating the in-house personnel assessment and development system of oil and gas enterprises with the external educational space. It includes several modules: staff competency assessment, collection and analysis of information on additional professional education programs from educational platforms, and the development of an individual learning trajectory. This project was presented to oil and gas industry enterprises at the 18th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Technologies of Well Construction and Capital Repair. Prospective Methods of Enhanced Oil Recovery.” Certain modules of the “Geosynergy” project were successfully implemented in collaboration with leading oil and gas companies.

CdoGEO courses are implemented in collaboration with professors from Kazan Federal University (KFU) and leading experts from oil and gas companies. In total, 184 individuals participated in program implementation, including 64 external experts. This year, programs were conducted in collaboration with prominent specialists such as Artur Mikhelev from Mirrico Group, Maxim Mikheev, the head of the expedition for the implementation of new technologies at TNG-Group LLC, expert in geodesy Mikhail Karavanov, Renat Zagretdinov, the director of Geopolygon NPK LLC at KFU, Rafik Nazarov, the director of Eridan LLC, Ruslan Melikov, the director of business development at Geonaft (Digit Group), Damir Gilaev, the head of the topographic-geodetic and survey department at Tatneft-Production, and expert in the oil and gas industry Georgiy Mozgovoi.

Special thanks for delivering high-level courses to metrologists from PJSC NK Rosneft are expressed to Iosif Fishman, the head of the Department of Metrology and Measurement of Oil and Gas Flow at IGPT KFU, Alexander Kondakov, the head of the department at VNIIIR (a branch of FSUE “VNIIIM named after D.M. Mendeleev”), Ravil Abzalov, a research fellow, and Leila Khazieva, a technical expert from FSUE, an auditor at the Russian Register.

This year, new experts joined the program implementation, including Alina Khalilova, the head of the department of metrological support at FBU “TSM Tatarstan,” Sergey Lavrinov, the head of the testing, certification, and verification of measuring instruments department at FBU “TSM Tatarstan,” Olga Generalenko, an expert at Gazpromneft NTC LLC, and others.

CdoGEO continues to implement programs within the World Class Research Center “Rational Development of the Planet’s Liquid Hydrocarbon Reserves,” established in 2020 at Kazan Federal University. In 2023, 813 individuals underwent training in WCRC courses.

As part of the strategic federal project “Priority 2030,” the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies at KFU works in the direction of “Russian Energy Transition: Balancing Natural Potential and Global Trends.” The existing Knowledge Center for Green Energy Transition and Carbon Footprint Compensation at CdoGEO is working on the creation of the project “1 Site – 1 Course” (openesg.kpfu.ru). In 2023, within “Priority 2030,” courses on “Certification and Validation of Carbon Footprint and Climate Projects Calculations” were implemented for SamaraNIPIneft LLC, PJSC NK Rosneft, and “Low Carbon Development (Energy Efficiency Improvement, Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction, Hydrogen Energy)” for employees of Gazprom Pererabotka LLC, in collaboration with the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management at KFU.

In 2024, CdoGEO will continue program implementation for the CUPET oil company (Cuba). Plans include conducting a qualification improvement course “Non-Seismic Methods for Hydrocarbon Reservoir Exploration” in Kazan and two courses in Havana with the support of Zarubezhneft JSC – “Oil Recovery Technologies from Reservoirs with Hard-to-Recover Reserves” and “Modern Enterprise Management Technologies in the Oil and Gas Industry (Operational Management).”

Additionally, it is planned to continue cooperation in Iraq, as well as to start projects in Sudan and Mexico.

“CdoGEO KFU is the gateway of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies when working with oil and gas companies and oil service companies,” says Danis Nurgaliev, Vice-Rector for Petroleum Technologies, Environmental Management, and Earth Sciences, Director of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies at KFU. “In addition to its educational function, CdoGEO KFU contributes to the conclusion of cooperation agreements at IGPT.
