KFU delegation visited the oil and gas company SOUTH OIL in Kazakhstan
On August 4, a delegation of Kazan Federal University paid a working visit to Shymkent (Republic of Kazakhstan), where they met with the management of the oil and gas company “SOUTH-OIL”. The KFU delegation included Advisor to the Rector for Cooperation with the Countries of Central Asia Rashit Azimov and Vice-Rector for Petroleum Technologies, Environmental Management and Geosciences, Director of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan Federal University Danis Nurgaliev.
The oil company SOUTH-OIL LLP is deservedly considered one of the most successful and dynamically developing enterprises in the structure of the oil and gas market of Kazakhstan. The main area of activity includes the exploration and production of hydrocarbons in the promising Kyzylorda region.
“During the meeting there were discussed the areas of cooperation in the field of geology, prospecting and exploration of oil and gas fields in the licensed areas of the company. We talked about the methods and technologies developed by KFU scientists as part of the World-Class Science Center (WCSC). Colleagues became interested in our developments, so the plans for interaction for the near future were outlined in the process of discussion,” said Danis Nurgaliev.
It should be noted that cooperation between SOUTH-OIL and Kazan Federal University is rapidly developing. In June 2022, the head of the Ontustik financial, commercial and industrial corporation, the president of the oil company SOUTH OIL LLP, Serikzhan Seytzhanov, as part of a large delegation, arrived in KFU to discuss a number of issues in educational and scientific areas, in particular, preparations for the opening of a KFU branch for the training of doctors, engineers, geologists and oilmen.
The partners showed great interest in the possibility of an internship for the company’s employees at the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of IGPT KFU.
