A thousand of oil and gas industry specialists studied at KFU in 2019
The year 2019 appeared to be of landmark nature for the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of IGPT of KFU. It is noteworthy that the Center implemented the largest in the history of Kazan University international contract for the provision of advance training services. The result of this work was the decision of the management of Cuban state oil company Cupet to conclude a new contract with the Center for 2020 and 2021. Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Marketing of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan Federal University and Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing , took part in events related to the development of Russian-Cuban relations at various levels and organized visits of the Cupet management to KFU.
In total, in 2019, 133 different programs were provided for 979 employees of 89 oil and gas companies . The range of both full-time and distance training programs has been expanded, 68% of these having been carried out using distance educational technologies. 166 faculty members of KFU and partners of the Center provided training for the course participants.
“Further professional education has several important functions. Firstly, we introduce all the successfully implemented courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Secondly, the Center attracts a great number of company specialists ,who become our partners in the research field while taking up the courses and getting acquainted with the IGPT laboratories And thirdly, the effective work of the Center contributes to the development of international cooperation of the University, ”said Danis Nurgaliev, the Vice-rector for Research and Director of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan University.
The Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies at KFU is gaining popularity both with the industrial companies and individual clients. In 2019, the Center broke its own record for the month’s plans. So, in October alone, 6 managers and specialists of oil and gas industry enterprises from 21 companies, including Cuba, Kazakhstan and Belarus, were provided training.
“The Center faces different challenges in a modern competitive environment. And the effective results of our work is accounted for by its flexibility and individual approach. We offer different modes of study by a variety of methods including face-to-face, part-time, distance (including individual trajectories) and on-site training programs, introduce webinars and online round tables, and also attract unique experts from around the world, ”said Ildus Adgamovich.
The concept of a comprehensive modernization of the educational process“ Smarteducation ”is being actively developed in the Center. In 2019, a special platform – the “Incubator of distance education projects”- has become fully operational that makes it possible to process, replicate and accompany distance education programs . The platform allows to create high-quality multimedia content, which is used in training bachelors, masters and graduate students, as well as company employees as part of their additional professional education.
It should be noted that due to the show micro-lessons created on the basis of the Incubator, youtube channel of the Center has gained 32,000 views.
“The fact is that popularity of youtube channel of the CATQM&M is rapidly growing. The geography of the course participants turned out to be very extensive and has reached Kamchatka and Sakhalin. It is gratifying that our Center is recognized by industrial companies throughout Russia. How well we meet our objectives is illustrated by the fact that most of the course participants come to our Center following recommendations from their colleagues, as well as due to free on-line lectures ,” said Ildus Chukmarov, Director of the CATQM&M.
Thanks to modern online learning opportunities, which are successfully integrated into the course programs of the Center and implemented on the basis of the “Distance Learning Projects Incubator”, students with different backgrounds from all over the world can get industry- specific education. So in 2019, a group of students of Surgut State University, majoring in “physics”, covered professional retraining program “Geophysics: geophysical well logging ” at Kazan Federal University in parallel with their basic education. In addition, the Center plans to expand cooperation with SSU in 2020. It is significant that all the KFU students have a good opportunity to participate in a double degree program and acquire a new profession in oil and gas industry.
The Cooperation Agreement between Rosneft and KFU, signed in September of the past year, envisages the joint work in the field of personnel training, research and innovative spheres, as well as providing additional professional training and advanced training for the employees of the company and its subsidiaries. A number of special projects were carried out on request of Rosneft company.
The Center implemented a project of training of 72 employees of Gazprom Transgaz Kazan upon professional retraining program “Oil and Gas Business for Oil and Gas Industry Specialists”, created specifically for the company. The managers and specialists of Gazprom Transgaz Kazan from various regions of Tatarstan studied the basics of exploration, development and production of oil and gas fields, processing, application and transportation of oil and gas, as well as the oil-reliant economy.
Another project on the provision of on-site training of twenty employees of “Drilling Systems” company on the program “Theory and Practices of Measurement of Drilling Fluid Parameters in the API System” was implemented in Izhevsk jointly with Mirrico Group of Companies, the Center’s partner.
A group of nine managers and employees of the Super-Viscous Oil Production Department of TATNEFT completed an advanced training program “Improving the operational efficiency of the production system and the tools to reduce costs and increase oil and gas production within the conditions of rapid changes in Industry 4.0. The experience of international companies”.
The invited experts from Kaspersky Lab, NestLab, SAP, Gazprom Neft , 1C-Rarus and KFU scientists told about the robotic development of oil fields, modern challenges of the oil and gas industry, cybersecurity of industrial infrastructures, blockchain technologies, “Smart fields” and “smart wells”, as well as the use of robots and digital technologies in personnel management and methods of assessment of the company performance.
In addition, in Almetyevsk, the final exam on the Mine Surveying Program for the company’s specialists was held at the Tatneft base. The chairman of the commission was Rustam Sakhautdinov, the General surveyor of the company. In total, in 2019, 50 surveying specialists of TATNEFT were trained in the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of IGPT of KFU. Another special project for mine surveyors of TATNEFT was the further education program “Work in ArcGIS for surveying managers and experts of oil and gas companies.”
