Doctoral students from Kazakhstan are enhancing their qualifications at CdoGEO, Kazan Federal University
On October 3rd, employees of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, Akmaral Demeuova and Gulmadina Amangeldieva arrived in Kazan from Kazakhstan. Over the course of one month they will undergo a qualification enhancement internship in the field of “Geology and Exploration of Mineral Deposits” at the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management, and Marketing (CdoGEO) of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies at Kazan Federal University.
“We work at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University,” says Akmaral Demeuova. “We have established a specialty in ‘Geology and Exploration of Mineral Deposits’ at our department. There is a shortage of personnel in this field, which is why we enrolled at Karaganda Technical University and are working on our doctoral dissertations. When selecting a scientific advisor, we turned to Kazan Federal University, which ranks among the top hundred universities in the world.”
The doctoral students’ academic advisors are Boris Uspensky, Head of the Department of Petroleum and Gas Geology named after Acad. A.A. Trofimuk, and Professor Nuria Nurgalieva from the Department of Petroleum and Gas Geology at the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies at Kazan Federal University. Akmaral Demeuova is writing her dissertation on the topic of “Geological and Geochemical Conditions for the Formation of Hydrocarbon Generation and Accumulation Zones in the Arys-kum Depression of the South Torgai Sedimentary Basin,” focusing on petroleum geology.
Gulmadina Amangeldieva is working on the topic of “Geological Structure and Structural-Formation Complexes of the South Torgai Sedimentary Basin for the Assessment of Hydrocarbon Prospects.”
“IGPT KFU has been implementing additional professional education programs for Kazakhstan enterprises since 2013, including Maten Petroleum JSC, Service Drilling Enterprise LLP, KazMunaiGaz Drilling LLP, Burgylau LLP, MHINDUSTRY LLP, Samruk-Kazyna University, and Geokurs LLP,” says Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies (IGPT) for Marketing and Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management, and Marketing (CdoGEO). “It is heartening that universities in Kazakhstan are now joining the production enterprises. Today, we offered our colleagues from Karaganda University cooperation in several directions: first, to implement qualification enhancement in the form of internships for university teachers and graduate students; second, to train university master’s degree students in professional retraining programs in a distance learning format (using distance learning and video conferencing); and third, to conduct joint scientific research.”
The training for colleagues from Karaganda University will last for one month.
