The heads of Gazprom’s structural divisions and specialists of the Irkutsk Oil Company visited Kazan Federal University and got acquainted with the developments of scientists in the field of oil production, oil refining and petrochemicals. The guests took part in the meeting held at the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies, during which the issues of new technologies for assessing the oil- and- gas bearing regions and search for hydrocarbon deposits were discussed. They visited the unique laboratories of IGPT, got acquainted with the capabilities of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing of IGPT of KFU and the Incubator of distance educational projects.
During the round table, Danis Nurgaliev, the Vice-rector for Research and Director of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan University, and his colleagues told the guests about modern technologies for predicting the gas- bearing zones using satellite, remote sensing geophysical and geochemical techniques, as well as field non-seismic and seismic methods. The second part of the meeting was devoted to exploration technologies, creation of geological, geomechanical and geochemical models of gas and gas condensate fields, developed by the scientists of Kazan Federal University.
Gazprom delegation included Vadim Rybalchenko, the head of the Department, Damir Khabibullin and Alexander Chernov, deputy heads of the Department, Alexei Nikishin, the chief technologist of the Department. The guests got acquainted with the laboratories “ 3D GEO Center”, ”X-ray computed tomography”, “Isotope and element analysis”, “Petrophysical methods for the study of geomaterials”, as well as the unique “ Geothermochronology” REC.
Ildus Chukmarov, Deputy Director for Marketing of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of KFU and Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing in his report told about the Center’s capabilities, programs of continuing professional education, new educational technologies being used, such as, “Incubator of distance learning projects”, a unique platform for creating multimedia content .
“ Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies is famous not only for its scientists and its
facilities and resources, but also for new educational technologies actively being used today, in providing both basic education and further professional education. We could jointly create video lectures and micro-lessons. Another unique area of cooperation could be the creation of simulators with augmented reality and the creation of joint virtual reality simulators. We have a good team of specialists capable to arouse common interest in the company, its technologies and solutions, ”said Ildus Adgamovich.
The representatives of Gazprom got interested in cooperation in different areas : creation of joint virtual reality simulators, research work in the field of geological exploration, as well as, expansion of cooperation with the University in the educational field.
