KFU and Gazprom Neft start cooperation in Domanic deposits exploration
At the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies of Kazan Federal University, an official ceremony of signing a cooperation agreement between KFU and “Technological Center Bazhen”, a subsidiary of Gazprom Neft, took place. The document was signed by Danis Nourgaliyev, the Vice-rector for Research of KFU and the Director of IGPT, and Kirill Strizhnev, General Director of Bazhen Technology Center.
The agreement implies cooperation in Domanic sediments exploration in order to achieve the leading position of the Russian oil and gas industry through combining and coordination of efforts, the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in education, research and innovation and business areas.
“Kazan Federal University, together with the colleagues from Gazprom Neft, will jointly address the challenges of developing unconventional oil reserves, namely, the Domanic deposits reserves of the East European part of Russia that is also an issue of major interest of many other companies”, shared Danis Nourgaliyev.
During the visit of the delegation of “Gazprom Neft” to Kazan Federal University, round table talks “Perspective developments in the field of extraction, transportation and processing of hydrocarbons” and “Modern methods of data processing and development of fields with hard-to-recover reserves” were held. During the meeting KFU scientists presented their developments to the colleagues and discussed the prospects for their implementation.
Ildus Chukmarov, Director of the Center for Advanced Training, Quality Management and Marketing told the guests about the advanced professional retraining programs, individual distance education trajectories and suggested cooperating and creating joint educational projects. Every year employees of Gazprom Neft are provided training on additional professional education programs at the University of Kazan For example, quite recently, a project of upgrading the skills of 42 managers and specialists of the metrological service of Gazprom Neft has been successfully completed.
Another goal of the delegation’s visit was to meet with the students of the Institute and consider their applications for internships. Maxim Mityaev, an expert in geology of the Department of Geology and Field Development (a graduate of Geo -Faculty) conducted interviews with all those wishing to undergo internship at Gazprom Neft NTC this summer.
Last year, six students had already completed an internship at the Gazprom Neft Research Center. Maxim Mityaev noted that the students of Kazan Federal University made a good impression on the company’ the staff in St. Petersburg and received positive feedback because the guys were able to work with real production tasks and showed good results. “They were engaged in large conceptual projects like geological modeling, reserves calculation, and also in solving local problems related to production drilling with the shifting of wells to the injection and other activities.
